Parent & consultant in inclusion

Kath’s background is within young people and education, as a learning mentor, then a teacher whilst also as a parent of four young children, two diagnosed autistic. Following a parent leadership course, her interest in inclusion, belonging and person-centred practices began to shape her life and work to this day. Working within systems and creating environments for cultural challenge and change.

Working regionally and nationally, Kath delivers training, attends meetings and provides strategic challenge where she tries to be a positive disruption to a service in a focused way of thinking and co-produces the way forward. She is a LGA Peer reviewer and in demand to lead research and projects around lived experience.
Kath served 7 years within the NNPCF, working nationally on strategic co-production with departments and ministers around SEND and continues to support this wider work, including coaching as an associate for them and Contact. As a CDC Associate, Kath delivers strategic training and facilitates within DfE's RISE Programme.

Regionally, Kath also works for Pathways a NW organisation working with self-advocates with Learning Disabilities and Autism, helping highlight voice and the strategic movement. Kath believes strongly in developing communities through focusing on people’s strengths and working with our varied and wider communities to ensure everyone has a voice and is a valued citizen. She is held in high regard by leading figures for the work she does around belonging.

Kath is a mother to four young adults and is a very proud Mancunian. Kath loves meeting people from all walks of life and believes that there is more that unites us than divides us.
