Eleanor Margesson
Eleanor Margesson is Assistant Head (Training & Outreach) at More House School, Surrey, a specialist independent school supporting boys with speech, language and communication needs. Her role focuses on professional development, outreach and partnership work, helping teachers, SENCos and leaders develop inclusive practice that is both evidence‑informed and realistic for busy classrooms.
Eleanor works closely with universities, trainee teachers and research partners to explore how academic research can be translated into everyday teaching, particularly in the classroom. Her work is shaped by a cognitive domain, needs-led approach, emphasising high‑quality whole‑class teaching, thoughtful curriculum design and the role of the subject or phase teacher in supporting language development for all pupils.
With experience spanning classroom teaching, training and inspection‑facing work, Eleanor is known for making SEND support feel understandable rather than overwhelming. She brings clarity and realism to conversations about inclusion and perceptions around workload, encouraging schools to move beyond labels and towards teaching that works for real pupils, in real classrooms.
