Creating Joyful Play Experiences for Young Autistic Children.
This seminar introduces a way to play that enables adults to create joyful play experiences for young autistic children. This intersubjective approach from New Zealand has successfully supported parents and early years practitioners to develop their playful adult style and has an evidence base from the University of Canterbury.
The seminar demonstrates the background, key strategies and their impact, illustrated by video examples and the most recent implementation in the UK by the Ewing Foundation. This collaboration develops the skills of specialist teachers of the Deaf to build relationships with the Deaf Autistic children they support.
