Speech, language and communication - How well do you know your pupils? – And the impact of not knowing them!

13 Mar 2026
Communication and Interaction

Ofsted’s Education Inspection Framework emphasizes the importance of “leaders and teachers having a deep understanding of the pupils they teach” — including their starting points, needs, and learning barriers.  Yet many pupils’ speech, language and communication needs remain unidentified in primary and at secondary age.
