This session will explore how mainstream schools can positively respond to the increasing complexity of need.
-       What are the different types of provision and purposes?
-       What are the benefits and the risks?
-       The important areas to consider when developing a SEND provision including:
Purpose, Roles and Responsibilities, Curriculum, Expertise, Engaging with parents and Working with specialist teams, keeping the offer under review..

Target audience who should attend this seminar: SENCO's / Leaders / Local Authority Staff

Learning outcomes: 

  • Ensure a clarity of purpose of their SEND Provision that is aligned with the principles of inclusion.
  • Be able to evaluate the benefits and the risks of the provision.
  • Be confident to consider important areas or practice when developing a SEND provision and in keeping it under review.
