Insight Wellbeing

Stand: B10

Insight Wellbeing Services Ltd works alongside local authorities, schools, and partner organisations to provide trauma-informed mentoring and tutoring that improves emotional wellbeing, engagement, and educational outcomes for children and young people.

Our work creates consistent, relational pathways of support for children who face barriers to learning due to trauma, disrupted education, additional needs, or complex life experiences. We deliver bespoke mentoring and tutoring for children in care, previously looked-after children, children with a social worker, and those educated through alternative provision.

To achieve this, we provide flexible, needs-led support that enables children and young people to:

build trusting relationships with a consistent adult

improve emotional regulation, confidence, and self-belief

re-engage with learning at a pace that feels safe and achievable

access education through mentoring, tutoring, or a blended approach

work towards meaningful personal and educational goals

Our work is grounded in trauma-informed and relational practice, recognising that behaviour is communication and that progress happens when children feel safe, understood, and valued. We place strong emphasis on consistency, choice, and capturing the voice of the child, ensuring support is shaped around individual needs rather than systems or labels.

Insight has a well-informed understanding of the needs of children with SEND, including SEMH and EBSA, and of young people who have experienced loss, instability, or disrupted schooling. Evidence from our work shows that relational mentoring and tailored tutoring can improve engagement, emotional wellbeing, attendance, confidence, and academic progress, while also reducing the risk of exclusion or placement breakdown.

In addition to direct work with children, Nick Barwick, Founder and Director of Insight, delivers CPD-accredited training for schools and professionals working with children and young people. Drawing on lived experience and professional practice, Nick’s sessions focus on trauma-informed and relational approaches, supporting staff to build meaningful connections, respond to behaviour with understanding, and create environments where children feel safe, valued, and able to thrive.

Through our mentoring, tutoring, and training programmes, Insight supports both children and the adults around them to create lasting, positive change.
